“Cinderella Land”

Description

“Cinderella Land” emerged from my 2019 residency at Hill End, where I initially captured the landscape on canvas. Upon returning to the Gold Coast, I revisited the piece and experimented with a newly developed technique, applying metal leaf to its textured surface. As the process unfolded, my excitement grew, and a transformative image began to take shape.
The metal leaf imbued the landscape with an ethereal quality, evoking the shimmering fantasy of Cinderella’s castle. The resulting artwork appears as a mirage – a dreamlike vision of an alternate world. Selected for the 2023 Sunshine Coast Art Award at Caloundra Regional Art Gallery, “Cinderella Land” was awarded the Car Wrap prize and featured on a BMW wrap.
