PAINTING

For me, painting has always been about recording my observations of my immediate environment. I began painting on canvas as a 14-year-old, recording the view from our verandah looking across canefields to Mt Warning [Wollumbin]. After meeting Sam Fullbrook in the early 1980s, I became aware of the term ‘Colourist’ and in the preceding years, I realized I was a ‘Colourist’. I love and use pure bright colours in most of my Art making processes. I also enjoy experimenting with new techniques and mediums, ensuring I am always learning along the way. I use archival and museum standard practices and materials to ensure the longevity of my production.
